Education Recruitment: In computer science, computer science and engineering, information technology, software systems, cyber security, system administration, and networking, as well as computer systems and networking, data analytics, and artificial intelligence, sixty percent of the applicants will be awarded an M.Sc., B.E., B.Tech., or M.Tech. The remaining applicants will be awarded a computer science and IT MCA + BCA/BSc.

Important Points for Indian Navy Short Service Commission in Information Technology

Overview

The Indian Navy invites applications for unmarried men and women candidates for the Short Service Commission (SSC) in Information Technology (Executive Branch) under the Special Naval Orientation Course commencing in January 2025. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Candidates must be born between 02 January 2000 and 01 July 2005 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks in English in either Class X or XII and one of the following qualifications: 1. MSc/BE/BTech/MTech in:

  • Computer Science
  • Computer Science & Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Software Systems
  • Cyber Security
  • System Administration & Networking
  • Computer Systems & Networking
  • Data Analytics
  • Artificial Intelligence

Additional Qualifications

  • Candidates who are in their final year of study must also have a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
  • The educational institution must be recognized by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or declared as a deemed university under UGC, IIT, or AICTE Acts.

NCC Candidates

NCC ‘C’ certificate holders will receive a relaxation of 5% in cut-off marks for shortlisting for SSB, provided they meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a minimum ‘B’ Grade in the NCC ‘C’ certificate of Naval/Army/Air Wing.
  • Have served for at least two academic years in the Senior Division of the NCC.

Application Process

Document Requirements

  • Scanned copies of relevant documents (preferably original).
  • Marks sheets up to the 5th & 7th semester for regular and integrated BE/BTech courses, respectively.
  • All semester marks sheets for candidates who have completed their degree.
  • Date of birth proof (as per 10th & 12th certificates).
  • CGPA conversion formula for BE/BTech.
  • NCC ‘C’ certificate (if applicable).
  • A recent passport-sized color photograph in JPG/TIFF format.

Application Submission

Selection Process

SSB Interview

  • Change of SSB Centre for examination/interview is not permissible.
  • Candidates must download the call-up letter upon receiving notification from NHQ/DMPR.
  • Any correspondence regarding changes in SSB dates should be directed to the call-up officer of the concerned SSB.

Medical Examination

Candidates will undergo a medical examination, and no compensation will be provided for any injuries sustained during the SSB interviews.
